1926 Pooh
During the 1920’s A. A Milne a man in England writes stories for his son Christopher Robin, a little boy who loves bears.
On Christmas night 1925, the first story of Winnie the Pooh is published in the London Evening News. In 1926, the first book entitled ‘Winnie the Pooh’, is published.
Winnie's Red T Shirt
Forty years must pass for the famed character to come to life in film. In 1966 the first cartoon created by Disney is produced. It is a short animation entitled ‘Winnie the Pooh and the Honey Tree’. It is the first time that Winnie appears with what is today a trade mark, his red T shirt.
In 1977 the first full length film is produced by Disney Studio, it is a composite of the different animations previously produced and is released as ‘The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh’. In 1983 Winnie the Pooh, becomes a star of television on the Disney Channel.
It will however take a few more years before the big screen call Winnie back. In 2000 the movie ‘The Tigger Movie’ is released. Another movie 2005 ‘Pooh’s Heffalump Movie’ introduces a new character a heffalump, an elephant-like creature.
Then in 2007 Winnie the Pooh makes a come back as an animated series.
The characters:
Winnie the Pooh : He is the hero of the “Hundred Acre Wood” forest. He always thinks about eating and to dip his fingers in a very large honey jar. To satisfy this desire he is willing to climb very high trees, even if he must face thousands of furious and dangerous bees.
Tigger : Is the crazy tiger who jumps in every direction. Always happy, always looking for new adventures, he is the most outgoing cheerful of all. He is proud to be a tiger, and repeats it in his favorite song. “The wonderful thing about Tiggers Is Tiggers are wonderful things”.
Piglet : A very very little pig who is often, (always) scared. He is the one that need to be looked after, and Winnie is happy to be there for that. He is shy, so he speaks little and does not dare say what he thinks because he is afraid of what problems that might create.
Eeyore : The pessimiste in the group is a donkey. He believes that problems are always lurking and only wait for an occasion to trouble their lives, but he accepts this eventuality because he thinks he does not have a voice in destiny. He also has a problem with his tail who falls off once in while, but not to worry, his friends are there to help him.
Kanga and Roo: The kind hearted mother of Roo, Kanga is in fact the mother to all the animals in the forest. She takes care of all of them and more precisely she watches over Winnie. She takes good care of them and advises warm clothes and good meals.
Rabbit : Is a serious friend and the most practical of the group. He tries to calm Tigger, to keep Winnie from eating too much honey, and to protect his garden that is the envy of other animals.
Owl : The wise owl to whom all the creatures of the forest turn to when they have a problem. In reality he does not know how to read any more than the other, but is respected as an elder who remembers past experiences.
Christopher Robin : He is in reality the createur of all his friends. It through his dreams that all the stuffed animals come to life. He is the rescuer that comes when all else fails. His best friend is Winnie and he worries about his best friend.
